“Pahaging” is derived from the Filipino Word “to punch lightly” or “to share a message indirectly.” This is a show that conveys a short glimpse of the artist’s maturity in form, technique, and in their intention.

Each piece is a metaphorical punch at the audience, delivering a message that glances at the artists’ minds and the ideas they wanted to explore. The exhibition embodies and encapsulates the essence of artistic exploration, self-discovery, and reflection.

“Pahaging” invites you to delve into the dynamic relationship between the artists’ personal narratives and their artistic expressions, providing a platform for internal dialogues and introspection. Each artist shares their own truths, anecdotes, and realizations on each of their pieces.

To indirectly share their thoughts through subtle punches while ensuring that the audience receives them with grace and clarity.

The space serves as a metaphorical departure from the artists’ personal comforts, as they break away to find their own footing and uncover their own process of art-making. It serves as a visual testament to how ideas take root during the formative years of university education and how exposure to different artists, groups, and galleries has profoundly influenced both their artistic endeavors and their lives as a whole.

While the group’s aesthetics and techniques differ individually, it is their shared bond of community and mentorship under the umbrella of KUTA that ties the group together, shaping their approach to both their work and their lives. The group consists of artists from Rizal, namely John Loyd Benz De Leon, Eugene Dominguez, Jonas Arlegui, Jerline Sunga, Rommel Ambo Gonzales, Olsen Santiago, and Azriel Domingo.

LOCALE

As a collection of open themes to express various forms of art freely, the collaboration includes a diversity of original artwork and artistic practices. Each artist created a wall-bound work and personalized house sculpture. With that, they’ll be able to highlight what their identity is, and what trajectory they’re going to do. The tendency is that, once the size and a specific theme are provided, there is a possibility that the artist will be limited.

The primary objective is to highlight Bulacan’s young artist community and introduce the younger ones. A way to map the upcoming young artists here in Bulacan and highlight how diverse and evolving it is. The Group of seniors has merged a group to guide a Filipino Young Artist through collaboration and to grow continuous projects with Filipino Young Artists.

“Locale” is a Group Exhibition serving as a diverse collection of originals regarding modern Filipino artists. The Group artist depicted different approaches to convey original art techniques and interpretations to present in the exhibition.

This online exhibition will continue to be updated. Please come back to visit this page in its entirety soon.
