About the Artists:
Butch Payawal (b. 1961) is a visual artist known for his mystical and thought-provoking works often placed in the realm of realism and surrealism. Having graduated from the University of Sto. Tomas, Butch has expanded his creative practice through exploring mediums such as sculpture and painting, and has repeatedly challenged himself conceptually in every series he’s released. Over the years, he has gained critical acclaim both locally and internationally, having exhibited in solo and group shows, as well as auctions.
Demi Padua (b. 1977) is a visual artist from Oriental Mindoro who graduated with a Fine Arts degree at the Far Eastern University. His style draws influence from traditional, figurative subjects and playful, child-like imagery, often rendered in a hyperrealistic fashion. Demi’s works feature mixed media compositions, sculptures and paintings framed in aluminum, most of which exhibit a three-dimensional Trompe L’oeil effect. His distinct style has won him recognition in several art awards and exhibitions locally and internationally.
JM Saycon is an artist who graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and a member of the Guhit Visual Arts Group whose works are known for their signature achromatic style. An accomplished painter, he’s received praise in competitions such as the Vision Petron Awards and in his continued participation on local exhibitions.
