Everything seems to be distant lately.
As the world gyrates at its own axis and works at its habitual undertaking, human beings cage their selves into isolation and tried to survive the deafening silence of their own yearning for the unspeakable thing. And as humans, sometimes we struggle to subsist in solitude, yet here we are – facing miles and kilometers of distance between people, dreams, and affection.
As we are embracing this distance, we learn to cope up and reach the borders between one’s self and another. We finally concede to our wounds and mend it. With the distance drawn and painted by the society, we actually crafted our versions of ourselves and infuse them into the world. We learn to establish a connection to one’s soul – that age, career, location, style, and the things that literally gauge how distant we are to the world, will not be the reason to tie our veins with human beings and survive isolation.
Distant is a show that portrays our yearning to survive the distance the world created. The comfort and holes that need to be sewed to finally close our detachment to society. This exhibition is proof that at some point, beyond the space and gap between people, style, and how we understand things, there’s a place that is destined to be the location of the endpoint – this is the point and it ends here.
