A splash of ink, a calligraphers stroke of the brush, focused, precise. Shodo is art with harmony and balance, with delicate and sometimes strong lines but must end once started as it envelops figures of beautiful women, fabric and flowers. This is Aubrey Fajardo’s 5th solo show, “Impermanence”.
Fajardo explores and incorporates new elements into his latest works to convey movement. While still having his constant elements of figures obscured by flowers and draperies.
He believes that that constant is the artist’s soul constantly changing, echoing the impermanence of all things, for everything changes, nothing remains without change but the soul remains.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Aubrey Fajardo (b. 1985) is a visual artist who aims to explore the human form as a subject in painting and illustration. His body of work comprises graceful representational paintings of women swathed in flowers and paint splashes. Aubrey has always been fascinated with the human figure and compositions and how they can be used in his art practice. In the past months, being inspired by calligraphers, he has been experimenting with the use of paint splashes incorporated into her oil pieces. Aubrey’s paintings often revolve around themes of the human condition, its ideas, and how it affects oneself and its surroundings. He is a BFA Adverting Arts graduate from Far Eastern University in Manila.
