I Once Knew Normal
Accepting that reality has now tipped over to a new point has now been the norm for all. The intangibility of human interaction is somewhat skewed to the virtual space. This disorienting dystopia can be valued as unimaginable to many, but does this hinder people from figuring out how to maneuver with their lives?
At this point, can you honestly say that you feel the Christmas spirit? Maybe it’s because the tangible feeling is not present even though you know December is closing in. Virtual shopping, schools and work have granted the notion that it would be possible to move forward despite the risks. So eventually, these formats will (possibly) overthrow its physical counterparts. No more malls, schools and workplaces. Imagine how the world would turn out. The apparent loss of physical presence. Virtual is now the reality. Movies have depicted this from Lawnmower Man to Ready Player One.
This exhibition depicts a reality that moves futurism into a corner of basics. No language or color barriers. Only black and white – as simple as 1’s and 0’s.
